Fueling Innovation: Overhauling Legacy Systems for the Oil Sector

The platform is aimed to bring all oil and gas tenants to an accumulated workplace, where they can smoothly share the information, provide invoices, work with order management, event tracking and much more.

Initial Request

Century-old industries require a new approach to their enterprise work as this oil and gas platform was tending to reduce its cloud bill, optimize the workflow for its tenants by code legacy refactoring.

Challenges and Solutions

Reducing a cloud bill

Legacy systems may not be designed to scale efficiently, and often contain inefficient or redundant code that consumes more computational resources than necessary leading to overprovisioning of resources to handle spikes in demand.

Bring quality assurance to the platform

Improving user experience through regular quality assurance, code reviews, automating testing and deployment processes was a big part of the challenges the system faced.

Bug fixing

As testing increased, the bug-fixing process was deployed as well. A platform needed a solution for a bug tracking system and implementing root cause analysis.

Outcome

In thorough platform analysis and united work our team managed to reduce the cloud bill, cover 89% of the platform with tests, optimize the processes within the system which increased customer retention and loyalty.
