Hello Cecil is an automated video interviewing platform that improves screening of job candidates. Short one-way video responses to customized questionnaires help hiring parties gain insights into candidates that paper resumes alone cannot provide.

Initial Request

Hello Cecil, an ambitious platform aimed at revolutionizing the recruitment process, had a vision. They wanted recruiters to conduct interviews with ease, record candidate responses in real-time, and store them for future reference.

Challenges and Solutions

We were to take an existing MVP and elevate it to a fully functioning product.

The major technical challenge lay in the seamless video recording and saving functionality across devices, especially mobile.

Further complexity was added by the need to allow the interviewee to engage with the platform without the need to install any additional software.

Outcome

Despite the project's complexity, our team successfully enhanced the Hello Cecil platform, enabling smooth video recording and storing functionality.

In addition to utilizing the Ruby on Rails and React technical stack, we leaned on our gaming development expertise. This unique cross-discipline approach helped us tackle the complex issue of mobile video recording and storage.
